Organically bound yeast

To increase the availability and effectiveness of certain minerals, Lesaffre developed the cultivation of organically bound yeast.


In this process, the addition of minerals occurs earlier in the process, during the cultivation step, which allows the yeast to metabolize it and organically bind it into its cell structure.

Lynside® Forte Se+

Lynside® Forte Se+ is a nutritional yeast fortified by adding sodium selenite to Saccharomyces cerevisiae during the fermentation process. Doing so enriches the yeast in organically bound selenium which is more bioavailable and less toxic than inorganic forms. Selenium has an antioxidant effect and also contributes to immune health, hormonal balance, normal heart function and more.

Lynside® Forte Fe+

Lynside® Forte Fe+ was designed to support specific health conditions such as eye health, healthy thyroid function and more. It is produced by adding iron during the fermentation process of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, thus allowing the yeast to metabolize the mineral and enriching it with organically bound iron, which is proven to be easier to absorb than inorganic forms. This specific product is not sold in Europe.
